Information we use
- Captain name. The game generates a username that you can accept, regenerate, or edit. We store it to identify your captain. Your name, rank, successful shipment count, and barrels delivered appear in public daily rankings. Avoid putting personal information in your name.
- Installation identity. Your device generates a random secret to authenticate your captain. Our server stores a hash of that secret, an internal player identifier, and the registration time. The secret is sent over HTTPS when needed and is never displayed in rankings.
- Game results. We store each submitted run’s identifier, selected ship, delivery or sinking outcome, barrels delivered, and receipt date and time, linked to your captain. These records calculate rankings and awards and prevent duplicate submissions.
Data on your device
The game saves your captain identity, progress, fleet, badges, statistics, and pending results in local app storage. Pending results are uploaded when the service is reachable. Local progress is used to run the game; the online records described above are stored separately. This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies.
Security and service providers
Our server receives your connection’s IP address and uses a hash of it in short-lived counters to limit abusive requests. These counters expire after approximately two minutes. Connections to the online service use HTTPS.
The game uses Google Firebase App Check, including Google Play Integrity on Android, to verify the app and device. Google processes verification material and issues security tokens for this purpose. Its handling of that information is explained in Firebase’s privacy information and the Google Privacy Policy. Hosting and security providers process information needed to operate these services.
Retention and deletion
Server-side captain and shipment records currently have no automatic expiry and are retained indefinitely unless deleted following a request. Historical results support ranking awards and prevent repeat submissions. Database backups are retained for 14 days, so deleted records may remain in backups until those backups expire.
Clearing app storage or uninstalling can remove your local saves and access to your captain. It does not delete records already stored on our server. There is no automatic in-game account deletion feature; contact us to request deletion.
Contact and requests
For privacy questions or to request access, correction, or deletion, email David Ilievski at david@davidilievski.dev. Include your captain name so we can locate the records. We may need to verify that the captain belongs to you. Do not send your installation secret.
If you contact us, we use your email address and message to respond and handle your request.
Policy changes
We will publish changes on this page and update the effective date. The current policy is available at https://tanker-web.davidilievski.dev/policy.
